The Pioneer Quilters Guild proudly hosts a premier Quilt Show each year that features a fantastic display of gorgeous quilts of various techniques, sizes, and designs made by our talented members as well as a designated area that offers quilts for sale to the public.  We have a wonderful and unique boutique that sells quality handmade crafts of all sorts.  Shop early as we are very well known in the community!  Our exciting raffle baskets generate a lot of interest.  There are door prizes given throughout the day, vendor shops to offer all that is new to quilting and more, and a catered café by Ambrosia Fine Foods offering an array of delicious fare for everyone.

Quilt Show Labels

Complete an Entry Form for each item to be entered to the Show. Entrant must be a member of the Pioneer Quilters Guild at the time of the show.  Each member may enter up to 4 quilts, however, please indicate your preference order in case the volume of quilts entered exceeds the space available.

Attach a color photograph or photocopy of the item and write on the back of the photo your name and the title of the quilt/item. Please note that the photograph or photocopy will not be returned.

Entry forms with no choice or multiple choices will be considered incomplete and will be returned for correction.

Please indicate on the Entry Form one of the Categories listed below.  (Note: The Perimeter is the total inches of all 4 sides of quilt.)

CATEGORIES

___ Challenge Items     *All sizes:  items made for 2017 Challenge.

____Miniature Quilt     *Miniature Quilt:  Quilts MUST be miniature in scale.

____Small Quilt – Pieced     *Includes quilts up to through 216″ total perimeter, that are predominately (more than 50%) hand or machined pieced.

____Small Quilt – Applique     *Includes quilts up to through 216″  total perimeter, that are predominately (more that 50%) hand or machine appliqued.

____Medium Quilt – Pieced     *Includes quilts 217″ through 300″ total perimeter, that are predominately (more than 50%) hand or machined pieced.

____Medium Quilt – Appliqued     *Includes quilts 217” through 300” total perimeter, that are predominantly (more than 50%) hand or machine appliqued.

____Large Quilt – Pieced     *Includes quilts 301″ total perimeter or larger, that are predominately (more than 50%) hand or machine pieced.

____Large Quilt – Appliqued     *Includes quilts 301″ total perimeter or larger, that are predominately (more than 50%) hand or machine appliqued.

____Specialty Quilt     *Any size – includes quilts with construction that does not fit into the above categories. Examples: T-Shirt, Photo memory, whole cloth, yo-yo, woven, hand pieced, and ALL quilts made from pre-cut quilts.

____ Mixed Techniques     *Any size – Includes quilts using mixed techniques.  Examples: embroidery, redwork, crazy quilts, mixed techniques and Art Quilts using non-traditional techniques.

____Other Items     *Includes wearable art, purses, bags, table runners, pillows, textile dyeing or painting, fabric constructed artifacts, or other fiber techniques.

____Junior Quilt     *All sizes:  Exhibitor 16 or younger

 RULES

Entries cannot have been shown in a previous Pioneer Guild Show.

An item may be reassigned to a more appropriate category after review of the entry form by the Quilt Show – Show Quilt Committee.

Sleeve:  All quilts larger than Miniature category must have a 4” wide sleeve hand sewn or basted to the back for hanging display.  Straight pins and Safety pins will not be permitted.  You will be asked to make appropriate adjustment if this requirement is not met upon registration.

Entry Label/Claim Check:  Each quilt must have an Entry Label hand sewn or basted to the lower corner on the back of the quilt.  (If you already have a Personal Label sewn on a lower corner, please place the Entry Label on the opposite lower corner.)  This form can be found on the PQG website.  A few will be available at the General Meetings.

No straight pins or safety pins will be permitted in attaching Personal and Entry labels. You will be asked to make appropriate adjustment if this requirement is not met upon registration.

Awards and Ribbons:  Members’ Choice and Viewers’ Choice Awards will be given in each of the quilt categories listed, with the exception of the Challenge Quilt/Item category.  As Challenge Items have already been voted on by members, they will only be eligible for a Viewer’s Choice Award.

Junior Quilts will not be voted on; ribbons will be provided for every entrant.  Only quilts and other Items made by a Pioneer Guild active member will be eligible for prizes.

 Drop Off:  Friday, November 11th between 5:00 and 6:00 pm to the Roseville Sports Center at Mahany Park

Delivery:  Before delivering quilt entries, please review the above rules and check to see if you have complied with all the instructions and requirements.  Additional labels will be available upon request.  If you cannot personally deliver your items at that time, another Pioneer Guild member may submit them for you.

Pick Up:  Sunday, November 13th, between 4:30 and 5:00 pm.  Entries will not be released earlier or later than time indicated. Bring your Claim Check.

NOTE: An entry cannot be released without a Claim Check.  If you cannot come personally, please make arrangements with another Pioneer Guild member to pick up your item(s).  This person must have the Claim Check for identification.

Important!    The quilt(s) or other item(s) may not be removed from the Show Room prior to check-out procedure.  This rule applies to all exhibitors including show volunteers.
